This is paid work
Sessions here start at $125.00 for three hours, and you are paid for running them.
You are not renting the room and you are not working for tips. Customers book a game master through the site, the shop takes the booking, and you are paid for running it. The room, the table and the screens are ours to provide.
What we are actually looking for
Not the longest résumé. The people who do well here are the ones who can take a table of strangers — some of whom have never rolled a die — and send them home wanting the next session.
- You can teach while you run. Most of our new players have never played. Being patient with that is the job, not an interruption to it.
- You show up. A campaign lives or dies on the game master being there. It is the single thing we care most about.
- You bring something of your own. A system nobody else here runs, a style people seek out, terrain you have built, a knack for horror or for comedy. That is the question the form asks hardest.
You do not need to have been paid for it before. Plenty of good game masters have only ever run for friends.
What happens after you send it
- 1. You get an email with a reference, right away.
- 2. Somebody here reads it — properly, not a skim. You’ll hear back within 7 days either way.
- 3. If we like it we’ll ask you in to talk, and usually to run a short table so we can see how you work.
We will not ask you to prepare a full campaign for nothing, and we will tell you if the answer is no rather than leaving you wondering.
